so i started. I watched the videos, i re-read my college notes, practiced, struggled, and kept going. Eventually, a few hardworking women (whom i highly admire and thank to this day) recognized my talent and trusted me with their brand and their website. They gave me the chance to start from nothing. 

Then I discovered web design. Not like I had no clue what “web design” was; I’d spent years in college and at my job doing it. Rather, I discovered the opportunity it presented me as a lucrative, valuable service and growing industry for self-starters. 

I lasted a year before my body and brain said... this can’t be it. There has to be more. I craved the autonomy, the challenge, and the total pride in my work that I just couldn’t achieve sitting in a cubicle for eight hours a day, five days a week. 

I had just graduated in May of 2025 with the promise of a full-time job on the horizon, after spending my previous year with the same company as an intern. I was ready to follow the path society had laid out for me: high school, then college, then the hustle of a 9-5.
